[He'll have to tell Jon later. Gods, it could have been both of them...he's not going to think about it right now.]
As far as they're concerned, that's entirely true. Don't know if it's programing or magic or both, but everyone would swear under pain of death that were true.
Better over to dominant, though. A little more personal freedom, except in who you fuck I suppose.
Hold on.
[He still has one some- ah ha! After a moment, he sends a picture of a pamphlet]
Friend of mine and I tried to spread word about to make someone acknowledge it, but none did. Almost like they couldn't.
[ The depth of acknowledgement V feels after giving the pamphlet a once over is far reaching. Something impossibly tight loosens in his chest a fraction. It might not be the city who's acknowledging it but this still counts. ]
Hate being a dominant, would rather be a submissive
[ Which is a bizarre stance to take without some background knowledge about who V is. He'll explain at some point, no doubt. ]
So - your friend switched the same way? Sub > Dom?
[Maybe at some point, but Chris' is still inclined to note it. V might not be the only person Chris knows would feel like that, but it was still unpopular enough of a stance to be noticed.]
Really? Only a handful others would feel same.
Though my friend - Jon- is likely in your same camp. Yes, he switched same as you, I think he said only a month after arriving and more odd still, he didn't pick up a random stone in a maze to cause it.
No one's inherently set to fuck with you. Most people here don't care enough to do so and a lot care actively about not doing so.
You know what's better? Now you're a dom who's the latter which makes you a good fit for a sub expecting the worst as you were. As I was at first too, I get it.
Turn it around be the best damn contract partner someone could ask for in this place.
[As for the rest....really, what could it be? Well...aside from random, he'd just said Jon's had been.]
Maybe something else innocuous or maybe nothing at all. I don't think there's a rhyme or reason.
[ It's sound advice, and V can appreciate that when it's given freely, and without condition. He's too fresh from Night City to take anything given freely for granted.
He sighs and stares at his phone for a good minute before tapping out a response. ]
Guess I gotta unlearn some shit from the city I came from. Don't mean to be making generalizations.
Hear what you're saying too. It makes sense. Just not sure I convinced myself yet I got that in me.
Used to type properly when I first got here. Figure if I’ve a hard time getting words out sometimes, might as well not muddy it with typing anything other than how I talk.
Plus, voice to text is useful when my hands are full
I'm sure my friends have a thought to what my home looks like and I bet it's not at all what they're imagining in some ways.
I say magic and dragons and I imagine they're thinking there's just dragons flying around constantly when really most towns never see one. But, there's very few ways to show them the parts that really matter: the Moonsea itself and the Dragonspine Mountains catching the morning sunlight.
Anyway, yes I think of it a lot. I have quite a few friends here from a city called London, but each one's different apparently? Makes me wonder if they look different too.
Where I'm from we have tech called BDs that are like experiencing and living in a moment you were never in. Think people would be interested in that for this kind of purpose?
Like liquid crystals when the sun is on it and the deepest of abysses when a storm is overhead. It's an inland sea with a single feeder river and my region survives because of it. There are absolutely monsters in it however, so there's that.
I think they absolutely would be. There's a place sort of like that in the connected city Insincerity, but I can tell you through experience using it too much causes your memories to start to fade. They came back, but it's an insidious thing to be careful of.

How the fuck did Chris guess? No point lying now. ]
Yeah :-(
Nobody in the city offices will give me an honest answer. Keep saying I've always been
Never seen this apartment before in my life but they're saying I've always been here since I arrived ???

You're not the only one, that friend's same way.

Least as a sub I knew where I stood and that people were going to try fucking with me. That I'm used to
[ Which isn't a call for a pity party but more about how much comfort V finds in experience. ]
Don't know for sure if it was that, especially if nothing happened to you. Just don't know what else it could be.

Take your time with the rest. Not everything's got to happen over night, no matter what the city thinks.

Funny how sometimes you don't realize that shit until somebody stops to check in
Thanks choom

Hands full a lot then?Makes sense and yeah I try using that but it makes me sound dumber than a gangoon on too much dorph
Least it makes you sound charming

I have no idea what that sentence meant other than something dumb I guess?
But thank you

My charm is a little more rough around the edges maybe

It's like speaking another language to a guy, except more like if I told you something was banjaxed or that reading your words made me feel thael

thael- light-hearted, pleased

One of the nicer things people say about my messages
Fuck I love banjaxed though
Banjaxed
Gonna steal it if you don't mind

It's a fun one though, right? To write or to say
I don't know anyone else here who knows or uses it, I'd be more than pleased if you did.

Interesting finding out shit like this, helps me imagine what it's like where people have come from
Ever think about how all of us are from different places but we're probably never gonna get to visit where we're from?

Is BDs like a drug or more like
implant things?

More like VR. Virtual reality. Except it puts your brain on a specific wave length so you're living that moment
