[Kerry feels comforted by the way he can sense that V's edging towards unconsciousness. He reaches up and runs a hand through V's hair, encouraging him to give into that feeling.]

That's right. Every day I know you, feels like breathin' after being underwater. Who knows who I'll be tomorrow.

[ Huffing out a soft breath, V's eyes are heavier than bags of rocks, and eventually they slip shut at the feel of Kerry's fingers in his hair. Fuck, but he loves his hair being stroked. ]

Mm. Sounds like a song. Whoever you are still gonna feel like I do 'bout ya.

Me too. [He replies, his voice soft and gentle as he keeps stroking V's hair.] That's a promise, Vince.

[He doesn't usually call V by his name. It feels way too intimate so he saves it for moments like this when it's just the two of them and they're close to sleeping while tangled up in each other's limbs.

He hasn't gotten to uttering the actual words 'I love you' just yet. Somehow this feels pretty close.]

[ V's mostly asleep by the time Kerry's making his promise, but right on the edge of his consciousness is a smile; slow, lazy and sleepy. For the first time in what feels like a long time, V's slowed down.

Nobody ever really calls him by his full name because he doesn't share it all that often, but Kerry's one of the few people who knows it. And it always sounds good coming from his lips. ]
